PARTNERS PRESENTATION

The Regional Fund of Cohesion of the Azores, in association with the  APRAM - Ports Administration of the Autonomous Region of Madeira and with the Directorate-General for Transport of the Canary Islands have approved, within the ambit of PIC INTERREG III B Azores-Madeira- Canary Island, a joint application for financing the Automatic Identification System Project for the Maritime Navigation in Macaronesia (MACAIS). Therefore, they celebrated a Transnational Partnership Agreement on 9th December 2003, in which FRC was designated as the ”project leader”, assuming many responsibilities connected with this function, such as juridical and financial ones.
The Regional Directorate for Air and Sea Transport of the Azores (DRTAM) and the Portos dos Açores, SGPS, S.A. (PA) are also involved in the MACAIS as associated participants.
 
 
The Partners:

The FRC is an organism featured by its administrative, financial and property autonomy. Its functioning depends on the Regional Secretary of Economy and is led by an Administration Board. This Board has, among others, the power to outsource services within the framework of its terms of reference. Furthermore, it deliberates about the presentation and support when applying for Community Programmes and about initiatives of cooperation with other entities, both national and from abroad.

 

 

Portos da MadeiraThe APRAM - Administração dos Portos da Região Autónoma daMadeira, S.A. is an exclusively state-owned corporation responsible for the administration of ports, terminals, quays and marinas in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. It aims at its economic management, conservation and development, including the performance of its port authority competences and prerogatives that this cooperation is or will be responsible for.

 

Porto das CanáriasThe Transports General Agency is a dependent agency of the Secretariat of Infrastructures, Transports and Habitation, responsible for the elaboration of proposals of disposals, plans and related programs of cooperation with the sector of transports in the Autonomous Community of Canaries Islands.
